Casata is a team of 63 across Milan, Palermo and Amsterdam. Henrik Osgaard advises the company on European expansion. Compensation is transparent and set by level; equity vests over four years. Three roles are open.

Head of Distributed Conveyancing

Milan · hybrid · Legal Operations

You will own the operational interface between 40–400 emotionally invested strangers, Italian notaries, municipal planning offices, and one house. You will run the closing calendar for cohorts across eleven regions and keep unanimity failure out of the deed room.

You will

  • Manage deed preparation and signature logistics for closings of up to forty parties, most of them abroad, several of them related.
  • Maintain our working relationships with 38 municipal technical offices, each of which is correct.
  • Own the power-of-attorney pipeline and its apostille backlog.

You have

  • 7+ years in conveyancing, title operations, or notarial practice.
  • Working Italian and English; a second EU language is a plus.
  • Composure.

Senior Buyer Cohort Reliability Engineer

Remote (CET ±2) · Cohort Platform

Cohorts are systems, and systems fail. You will design the tooling that prevents eleven strangers from simultaneously deciding they no longer want a €7,000 house.

You will

  • Build consensus tooling for votes under art. 1108 c.c. — ballot preparation, proxy handling, quorum tracking.
  • Instrument early-warning signals of commitment decay: payment latency, ballot abstention, group-chat silence.
  • Own deadlock detection and the escalation path to the Deadlock Desk.
  • Carry the pager for closing week.

You have

  • 5+ years building production systems; 3+ years managing consensus processes across distributed stakeholder groups.
  • Strong product judgment about when software should not intervene.
  • Familiarity with the Italian Civil Code is a plus; art. 1108 will become a daily reality either way.

Staff Chimney Infrastructure Engineer

Remote · quarterly travel to Abruzzo · Survey & Exposure

Casata’s liability models are only as good as our understanding of the chimneys. You will own the survey program: 340 flues across 142 properties, each with a condition score, a draft coefficient, and an owner of record.

You will

  • Run quarterly flue inspections and keep the exposure index (v2.3) calibrated against observed repairs.
  • Reconcile survey findings with cadastral records that predate the survey, the chimney, and in two cases the municipality.
  • Train local crews on the condition-scoring rubric.

You have

  • Structural survey or building-pathology background.
  • Comfort with site inspections and with municipal archives.
  • A driving license valid in Italy.
